Select Board Defers Property Deed, Approves New Officer

NH CANTERBURY — Canterbury Select Board unanimously defers Lovering property deed citing municipal liability risks. The board rejected the deed for Map 256 Lot 3 over $3,748.36 in unpaid taxes, invoking RSA 80:38 II-a liability protections, and will reconsider in one year. Town Clerk Sam Papps reported nine residents have called since notices went out, with one attempting to locate potential heirs.
The board also hired Matthew Plantier as a police officer effective July 1st pending Police Academy training in August, and approved a revised municipal fee schedule aligned with neighboring towns.
