Select Board explores library heat pump upgrade

NH CANTERBURY — Canterbury Select Board directs staff to explore library heat pump replacement. The board ordered analysis of a $62,028 heat pump system to replace failed furnaces at Elkins Library, with Unitil Energy offering zero percent on-bill financing over 10 to 20 years. Selectman Calvin Todd requested additional cost comparisons for furnace replacement alone.
The board also approved Agricultural Commission appointments of Jessie Scanlon and Ben Davis, a Temporary Camper Permit for a construction-phase residence, and multiple financial manifests totaling over $780,000. Police Chief Justin Crotty reported safety concerns from this year's fireworks event, including inadequate lighting and parking problems, prompting discussion of improvements for future events.
