Conservation Commission appoints member, advances wetlands ordinance changes

NH CANTERBURY — Canterbury Conservation Commission appoints member, updates wetlands ordinance. The commission unanimously appointed Michael Capone as an Alternate member, with Chair Kelly Short to recommend the appointment to the Board of Selectmen for formal approval. Members also recommended revisions to the town's wetlands ordinance Section 5.2.D.3, specifying that vernal pools larger than 2,000 square feet receive the same setback protections as wetlands and surface waters: 25 feet for structures and 15 feet for land-disturbing activity.
Vice Chair Audra Klumb and Treasurer Bob Steenson scheduled a meeting with town staff to discuss enforcement of the updated ordinance.
